Disney Trivia – When you Wish Upon a Bar

Do you sleep with a stuffed Simba? Are you still traumatized by the death of Bambi’s mom? Have you been staring at the edge of the water as long as you can remember, never really knowing why? Wonder no longer because we’re bringing you the third edition of When You Wish Upon a Bar: A Disney Quiz! Put on your glass slippers, wake up your ancestors and get to a quiz!

The bulk of the questions will cover the theatrically released films produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Anything and everything Disney is fair game though, so maybe look at a map of Disney World or finish that play-through of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. We won’t however be asking you questions about Star Wars or Marvel, so don’t worry. You’ve only got 80+ years of animated classics to watch in preparation.

Admission is $5 per person and the winners will take home the cash pot. We’re accepting cash only though, so leave this Disney Dollars at home. You might want to come prepared with more than one team name, though, because “The Happiest Quiz on Earth” will likely go fast.

Your team is required to register for this quiz! Get that done here!

THEMED QUIZ FAQs

Can people under 21 play?
Unfortunately not. All team members must be over 21.

What if I don’t like beer?
We rarely encounter patrons that we can’t find a beer for that they’ll love. Let our beertenders guide you through our menu and find a brew that works for you. That said; if beer really isn’t your thing, and you are not willing to taste our offerings, then this probably isn’t the event for you…we are a brewery after all. Obviously we encourage responsible drinking and the use of a designated driver to ensure everyone’s safety. It should be noted that we can only legally serve beer that is made on premise. Outside alcoholic beverages will not be tolerated in any form. If discovered, the entire team will be asked to leave immediately.

Should I wear a costume?
YES! There may even be a costume contest should there be enough people in the spirit.

How do you sign up? Where do you buy tickets?
You can register your team by filling out this form. This is NOT a reservation of seating, but it will help us ensure that we have ample space for all our teams. We anticipate our theme quizzes will fill up quickly and we will turn away teams that did not pre-register. You will not purchase tickets in advance, simply pay the $5 per player entry fee in cash when you arrive at the quiz. Registrations will close 24 hours before the quiz and, if space permits, walk-up spots will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Will I get some sort of email confirmation?
You and your alternate captain should receive an automated email after submitting your registration and, as long, as that email doesn’t indicate that you’re on stand-by, you should plan to be at the quiz. The week of the quiz, we’ll shoot you a reminder about the quiz as well.

How do you change your team name, number of players on the team or cancel a registration?
After you’ve registered, you can make changes to it by emailing us at marketing@geekswhodrink.com. You can also change your team name when you arrive at the quiz.

Is this a free quiz?
No, it’s $5 per person to play (bring cash!), and we’ll ask you to pay for everyone on your team before we give you quiz materials. If a team member is going to be late, we won’t ask you pay in advance, but if they fail to pay on arrival, your team will be disqualified.

What’s the maximum/minimum players per team?
There is no minimum, but if you want to win, you should have a fully staffed squad. We’re happy to help you find teammates in advance on social media or on the day of. Team maximum is strictly six players, as always. Everyone sitting with you is considered part of your team.

Do spectators have to pay?
Yes. Yes, they do. Spectators generally have to pay for sporting events, right? This also goes for Geeks Who Drink employees that aren’t working at the event and the people they make love to.

Will BLANK TOPIC be covered?
Everything is fair game. Study hard. Apply yourself. And we never give clues.

How long will the quiz last?
Our regular quizzes run about 2 hours, but themed quizzes require a bit more heavy lifting in terms of logistics, scoring and extra stuff we may have planned. Average is about 2 1/2 hours.

I’d like to help promote the quiz/talk to you on my podcast/contribute some bonus prizes.
Great! Contact us at marketing@geekswhodrink.com and we’ll see about making that happen.
