Fire Cannot Kill a Quizmaster: A Game of Thrones Quiz

Do you drink and know things? Did you skip filling out a March Madness bracket in favor of a GOT death pool? Are you mumbling the names of those who’ve wronged you under your breath right now? On Tuesday, April 23rd we’re headed back to the seven kingdoms to celebrate the final season of Game of Thrones with another edition of Fire Cannot Kill a Quizmaster! If you went to the others, don’t worry, this will be bloodier, geekier, and finished long before George R.R. Martin releases another book. Yes, we’ve been making that same joke since 2015. It’s still true.

The vast majority of the quiz will cover the Game of Thrones TV show through Season 7. Round eight, as always, will be “Random Knowledge” and any, and everything Game of Thrones will be fair game there. No we won’t give you additional hints. Cheaters, and daughters with king’s blood, will be burned at the stake.

Admission to the realm comes at a price – $5 (no coins, paper currency please). The winners will be as rich as the Lannisters (incest and patricide optional), so bring your friends, your direwolves, and your dragons. The more commoners who play, the more riches you’ll earn.

Remember, valar quizghulis, all men must quiz, so we hope to see you on the 23rd. As George R.R. Martin once warned, “for every person who doesn’t come to a Geeks quiz, I kill a Stark.”

Registration for this quiz is REQUIRED! Head on over to https://bit.ly/ThemeQuizRegistration to register your team.

THEMED QUIZ FAQs

Can people under 21 play?
Unfortunately not. All team members must be over 21.

What if I don’t like beer?
We rarely encounter patrons that we can’t find a beer for that they’ll love. Let our beertenders guide you through our menu and find a brew that works for you. That said; if beer really isn’t your thing, and you are not willing to taste our offerings, then this probably isn’t the event for you…we are a brewery after all. Obviously we encourage responsible drinking and the use of a designated driver to ensure everyone’s safety. It should be noted that we can only legally serve beer that is made on premise. Outside alcoholic beverages will not be tolerated in any form. If discovered, the entire team will be asked to leave immediately.

Should I wear a costume?
YES! There may even be a costume contest should there be enough people in the spirit.

How do you sign up? Where do you buy tickets?
You can register your team by filling out this form: https://bit.ly/ThemeQuizRegistration. This is NOT a reservation of seating, but it will help us ensure that we have ample space for all our teams. We anticipate our theme quizzes will fill up quickly and we will turn away teams that did not pre-register. You will not purchase tickets in advance, simply pay the $5 per player entry fee in cash when you arrive at the quiz. Registrations will close 24 hours before the quiz and, if space permits, walk-up spots will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Will I get some sort of email confirmation?
You and your alternate captain should receive an automated email after submitting your registration and, as long, as that email doesn’t indicate that you’re on stand-by, you should plan to be at the quiz. The week of the quiz, we’ll shoot you a reminder about the quiz as well.

How do you change your team name, number of players on the team or cancel a registration?
After you’ve registered, you can make changes to it by emailing us at marketing@geekswhodrink.com. You can also change your team name when you arrive at the quiz.

Is this a free quiz?
No, it’s $5 per person to play (bring cash!), and we’ll ask you to pay for everyone on your team before we give you quiz materials. If a team member is going to be late, we won’t ask you pay in advance, but if they fail to pay on arrival, your team will be disqualified.

What’s the maximum/minimum players per team?
There is no minimum, but if you want to win, you should have a fully staffed squad. We’re happy to help you find teammates in advance on social media or on the day of. Team maximum is strictly six players, as always. Everyone sitting with you is considered part of your team.

Do spectators have to pay?
Yes. Yes, they do. Spectators generally have to pay for sporting events, right? This also goes for Geeks Who Drink employees that aren’t working at the event and the people they make love to.

Will BLANK TOPIC be covered?
Everything is fair game. Study hard. Apply yourself. And we never give clues.

How long will the quiz last?
Our regular quizzes run about 2 hours, but themed quizzes require a bit more heavy lifting in terms of logistics, scoring and extra stuff we may have planned. Average is about 2 1/2 hours.

I’d like to help promote the quiz/talk to you on my podcast/contribute some bonus prizes.
Great! Contact us at marketing@geekswhodrink.com and we’ll see about making that happen.
