Trivia – Awesome Mix, Vol. 3: A Marvel Quiz

Do you keep a spare Cosmic Cube for guests? Are you currently wearing Black Panther Underoos? Are you Groot? If so, our next theme quiz demands that you assemble. To celebrate the coming of Captain Marvel and Avengers: End Game, we’re bringing back Awesome Mix, our Marvel theme quiz!

The vast majority of our quiz will cover the Marvel Cinematic Universe. True Believers know that means the master works from Iron Man to Ant-Man and the Wasp. As always though, we reserve the right to ask a smattering of questions about the associated TV shows, short films and, basically, anything else that carries the Marvel name. It’s probably not worth your time to study the newest season of Jessica Jones or to re-read Planet Hulk, but don’t be surprised if we ask a question about them.

Admission is $5 per person and the winners will take home a pile of cash that’d make Tony Stark blush. General Geeks Who Drink rules also apply. Your team is limited to six Avengers and the use of cell-phones or A.I. systems is strictly prohibited, lest you be culled by Thanos. You might want to come prepared with more than one team name as well. You’re not the only ones trying to make a “Wakanda” pun.

Registration for this quiz is REQUIRED! Head on over to https://bit.ly/ThemeQuizRegistration to register your team.

THEMED QUIZ FAQs

Can people under 21 play?
Unfortunately not. All team members must be over 21.

What if I don’t like beer?
We rarely encounter patrons that we can’t find a beer for that they’ll love. Let our beertenders guide you through our menu and find a brew that works for you. That said; if beer really isn’t your thing, and you are not willing to taste our offerings, then this probably isn’t the event for you…we are a brewery after all. Obviously we encourage responsible drinking and the use of a designated driver to ensure everyone’s safety. It should be noted that we can only legally serve beer that is made on premise. Outside alcoholic beverages will not be tolerated in any form. If discovered, the entire team will be asked to leave immediately.

Should I wear a costume?
YES! There may even be a costume contest should there be enough people in the spirit.

How do you sign up? Where do you buy tickets?
You can register your team by filling out this form: https://bit.ly/ThemeQuizRegistration. This is NOT a reservation of seating, but it will help us ensure that we have ample space for all our teams. We anticipate our theme quizzes will fill up quickly and we will turn away teams that did not pre-register. You will not purchase tickets in advance, simply pay the $5 per player entry fee in cash when you arrive at the quiz. Registrations will close 24 hours before the quiz and, if space permits, walk-up spots will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Will I get some sort of email confirmation?
You and your alternate captain should receive an automated email after submitting your registration and, as long, as that email doesn’t indicate that you’re on stand-by, you should plan to be at the quiz. The week of the quiz, we’ll shoot you a reminder about the quiz as well.

How do you change your team name, number of players on the team or cancel a registration?
After you’ve registered, you can make changes to it by emailing us at marketing@geekswhodrink.com. You can also change your team name when you arrive at the quiz.

Is this a free quiz?
No, it’s $5 per person to play (bring cash!), and we’ll ask you to pay for everyone on your team before we give you quiz materials. If a team member is going to be late, we won’t ask you pay in advance, but if they fail to pay on arrival, your team will be disqualified.

What’s the maximum/minimum players per team?
There is no minimum, but if you want to win, you should have a fully staffed squad. We’re happy to help you find teammates in advance on social media or on the day of. Team maximum is strictly six players, as always. Everyone sitting with you is considered part of your team.

Do spectators have to pay?
Yes. Yes, they do. Spectators generally have to pay for sporting events, right? This also goes for Geeks Who Drink employees that aren’t working at the event and the people they make love to.

Will BLANK TOPIC be covered?
Everything is fair game. Study hard. Apply yourself. And we never give clues.

How long will the quiz last?
Our regular quizzes run about 2 hours, but themed quizzes require a bit more heavy lifting in terms of logistics, scoring and extra stuff we may have planned. Average is about 2 1/2 hours.

I’d like to help promote the quiz/talk to you on my podcast/contribute some bonus prizes.
Great! Contact us at marketing@geekswhodrink.com and we’ll see about making that happen.
